3 Ways of Supporting Saathi's Field Programs:
1. Kria as Income Generation Program: Kria provides a daily stipend for hands on work, allowing the new individual entering the projects to earn while considering where he or she wants to go in life and exploring career options.
2. Kria as Vocational Training Program: The focus is placed on building specific skills for the youth involved in creating the products and some aspects of the management factors - ie, bookkeeping, inventory management, etc, with particular emphasis on the soft skills so often needed amongst young adults looking to enter the workforce
3. Kria Outbound as Vocational Training and Development: The Outbound/wilderness model provides an ideal environment for experiential learning. These camps provide numerous metaphors for overcoming difficulties. There are many initiatives and planned problem-solving exercises that present obstacles and require clear communication. There are many natural challenges in the outdoors, as well. Tiredness, physical pain, or fear may appear as impediments to reaching the summit of a trek or completing a valley crossing activity, but can be overcome with positive peer feedback, proper planning and new skills, including self-discipline and increased resiliency. The wilderness is where the individual makes many realizations, but follow up is necessary in order to maximize impact and see long lasting changes
