InternshipsSaathi's Intern Program hosts individuals from India and Abroad who are seeking an opportunity to participate meaningfully in the development sector, hone their skills in social work, and experience grassroots work in Mumbai. Since the first intern came in 2002, over 20 individuals from around the world have participated in the program, coming from: Austria, Canada, England, Finland, India, Israel, the Netherlands, Scotland, and the United States. These interns represented various fields of study and interest including: business, journalism, law, pre-med, social work, and others. Interns are expected to function as full-fledged members of the team, and as such, are provided with guidance through a three-pronged approach:
A core value of the internship program is that the experience should be meaningful for both the intern and the organization. Based on this, tasks and project alignment for placement are based on the intern's areas of interest, expectations for skills development, and the stated needs of the projects and organization. In order to qualify for an internship, the intern should be able to commit to a minimum of 3 months, full time work with the organization. Internships are unpaid and accommodation is the responsibility of the intern (though we are happy to help in locating suitable housing). If you would like to apply for an internship, please send your CV or resumé to info@saathi.org. Because of the number of enquiries into the Intern Program, placement is not assured. |
