Girls Project

Target Group:  Homeless adolescent girls and young women, 16 – 24 years.

Program: Girls Project works to protect and support girls and young women who are arriving in the city, homeless for various reasons, including abandonment and trafficking. Additionally, the project focuses on special needs groups with even more limited resources, particularly those requiring Aftercare support or who suffer from some mental health concern. 

Services & Supports Offered: Shelter, alternative housing, non-formal & formal (distance) education, life skills, vocational training, income generation activities, counseling, therapeutic processes, exploring viable alternative occupations, and case work support for inmates at the Children's Home. 

Issues being Addressed:  
Restoration and reintegration of the girls and young women.

Viable options of livelihood for those with limited education.
Emotional well beinng of the young homeless women.
Rehabilitation of the girls and young women having mental illness.

Long Term Goals:  Presenting effective model program for the runaway adolscent girls to the exisisting system and influencing for policy making for girls and young women.
