Child Labour

In 2008 a group within Saathi was formed to coordinate with the State level Task Force   towards elimination of child labour in Maharashtra. The group works towards strengthening the existing systems and identify the gaps handling the rehabilitation process of rescued children.

The Focus of this initiative is two-fold:

1. To play an active role as a Member of Task Force at the District level as well as the State level.
2. While handling cases of child labor, to study and explore the rehabilitation process of rescued children. These learnings can then be demonstrated and shared at the policy level.

Saathi is also available to citizens wishing to report a case of witnessed child labour and assists police in investigating reports of child labour and rescuing them from industries, hotels and domestic work.
